Before Treatment

The procedure itself is non-invasive, quick, and usually painless. Prior to the treatment, the targeted area is cleansed to remove makeup or any bacteria. A numbing cream is also applied to the target area to minimise any discomfort. Since the treatment is performed in delicate and sensitive skin areas, you will also get recommendations about aftercare to reduce the possibilities of side effects such as swelling and bruising.

We always inform our patients about possible side effects and complications before the procedure takes place.

During Treatment

We use sterile syringes and gently apply the syringe to the target area. A brief pinching sensation may occur when the needle goes in. Following the procedure, a gentle massage of the area may be needed to reduce the possibility of creating bumps.

After Treatment

Side effects and complications that may occur after the procedure include swelling, bruising, skin discolouration, temporary numbness, lumps, and infections (rarely). The under eye area is prone to bruising due to the sensitivity and thinness of skin in that area, so this is a common side effect of the treatment.

It is important not to sleep on the treated side of the face until fully recovered. In the first few days following the procedure, you can apply a cold compress to reduce the swelling and bruising. Avoid intense physical exercise for the first 24 hours after the procedure, as well as certain skin treatments and skincare products that can create additional stress on the treated area.
