Skin needling procedures are some of the most well-known and effective non-invasive rejuvenation treatments. Compared to standard Microneedling, Deep Needling penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, thus allows to address more profound structural issues such as scarring.
The micro-wounds caused by skin needling procedures trigger healing processes in the skin, stimulating the growth of connective tissue, fibroblast, collagen, elastin, and capillaries. The result is a strengthened skin, reduction of scars, and improved skin texture, firmness, and hydration.
As the name suggests, Deep Needling is a skin needling procedure that impacts the deeper layers of the skin, which allows us to work on stimulating collagen inside scars. Deep Needling is ideal if you wish to improve the appearance of body piercing, chickenpox, or acne scars.
Before the treatment can start, we will assess your current state of the skin. If you are visiting us for the first time, please allow an additional hour for our complete Facial Imaging Skin Assessment.
You will be required to give consent for treatment by signing the 'Informed Consent' form. This way, we can make sure that you can undergo Deep Needling and have no present conditions which are contraindicated with this procedure.
Please note that skin numbing is required for this treatment (numbing cream is available for purchase over the counter at a pharmacy). During your skin consultation, your Skin Therapist will give you detailed instructions on the numbing procedure.
You will be comfortably lying down. Your Skin Therapist will use an electro hand-held device, specifically targeting the scarred tissue in order to induce more collagen and elastin production in those areas. These processes help to rebuild the skin tissue and to smooth and even out the appearance of the scars.
During treatment, you might experience very mild tingling, but most of the clients do not experience any discomfort. Minimal surface bleeding might be present.
Deep Skin Needling is generally well-tolerated, but some clients might experience tenderness, dryness, scaling, or redness, lasting for up to 4 days.
The effects of a single treatment might be seen as soon as two weeks following treatment. Please note that some scars, especially burn scars, are slow to respond, and it may take up to six months (or rarely longer) to see results from a single treatment.
It is particularly important to apply sun protection regularly for several weeks following treatment.
You will likely require multiple Deep Needling treatments to achieve your desired results. Ideally, a gap of 4 weeks is recommended between two treatments; although the newly formed collagen and elastin can take 10 - 12 weeks to fully mature, monthly treatments will continue to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
A Facial Imaging Skin Assessment is an essential first step in your skin correction journey. That’s why we offer a complimentary skin consultation with your first skin treatment.
