Did you know that Electrolysis is the only treatment to permanently remove unwanted hair, and any other modalities can only provide permanent hair (growth) reduction?
Electrolysis is your best bet for treating all those troublesome hairs you truly want to be gone, forever.
Electrolysis uses a tiny needle that conducts electric current. This needle is inserted into the skin as electrical current passes through it. This heats up the tissue surrounding the hair follicle, damages it and causes it to break, making the hair fall out and not grow back.
We at Skin Correctives use most innovative electrolysis method, Blend, works by combining direct current (galvanic) and high frequency (thermolysis) currents. By combining the two methods, Blend destroys the hair follicle by heat and chemical action at the same time.
Every Electrolysis treatment at Skin Correctives is performed exclusively by our Director, Karen Meiring de Gonzalez, who has been practicing electrology since 1991. Karen is internationally qualified and has completed a Diploma in Advanced Electrolysis in 1992.
Before the treatment can start, we will assess your current state of the skin and structure of hair. If you are visiting us for the first time, please allow additional 30 minutes for our Hair Removal Consultation.
Based on the structure and colour of your hair, your Skin Therapist may recommend other, more suitable modalities. Electrolysis is best suited for white or grey hair.
You will be required to give consent for treatment by signing the 'Informed Consent' form. This way, we can make sure that you can undergo Electrolysis and have no present conditions which are contraindicated with this procedure.
Although Electrolysis causes some discomfort and slight pain, it is quite manageable for most clients.
Electrolysis can be safely used on any part of the body, including your legs, underarms etc.
The results of Electrolysis are immediate. The skin in the treated area can appear red and swollen, and in some cases, you may experience mild pin-point scabbing. Specific aftercare advice will be given to you by your Electrologist.
Please be aware that depending on the treated area(s), the growth phase of your hair and your hair structure, you are likely to require multiple treatments to get rid of all the targeted hair permanently.
A Hair Removal Consultation is an essential first step in your hair reduction journey. That’s why its cost is fully redeemable on your first treatment with us.
